To some extent. I've done a bit of research on the magic of this world, in combination with the world of Albus Dumbledore. The best I can achieve are small rituals that affix magic. It's not really the same, but I've duplicated a technique between two of the worlds to seal a memory away in an object. So I'm hoping I might duplicate the ward Sodder made.
Or... if worst comes to worst I'll just put the original ward in my room and let it seal the room off while Litwick lights another room in the house.
[She'd end up doing something with the latter in the end.]
Trying to mix the magics of worlds is a tricky thing. What Albus does is closer to a ... skill in the case of memories.
[He nods, listening as she describes.] That sounds useful, if you can select which memory to save and share. And it's also good to have a backup plan on how to handle things.
Within reason. I believe some mystical aptitude is necessary, but he seemed to think that provided the extraction could be learned the rest is understandable.
I suppose it could be a mostly mental skill, assuming it's your own memory that you're saving. After all, there's also mundane exercises for improving memory.
Humans here have odd obsessions about cats. I don't entirely understand it...
[Ahem]
I have a selection of small items that each store the memory of something of minor importance o each person precious to me at home, and each person I value in Deerington. It's a set of rings and jewelry. Cheap items but good enough for this purpose. No more than a few minutes here and there. I update it.
I have also stored... a tutorial for the use of the items and the fight to acquire the cure to the plague from last year. It was by far the one I was most concerned in having detailed directions to, should someone get it again.
Oh... it's cute in its own way. I just don't quite understand the scale of it around here myself.
mmm? Oh yes. There's a note on the one that is a tutorial in my handwriting. So long as I remember how to read when I wake I should be able to see it clearly. And Susan has instructions to guide me to it if I fuss.

Ah, and it's a skill that can be learned?

"There is more than one way too skin a cat."
I believe that this applies here as well.

Those all sound...quite important to have. Are those instructions easily accessible, should...should you become incapacitated?
